Developer & Presenter Fee Schedule
Adopted July 10, 1998
In February 1998 the AALL Executive Board adopted the following revisions to the Financial Policies governing professional development activities:
- AALL does not pay AALL members for presentations at programs that are covered by the Annual Meeting Registration fee.
- AALL may pay program developers and presenters, whether or not they are AALL members, to develop and present all other education activities that are part of the Associations professional development program, and are not covered by annual meeting registration fees. Any fees paid for program development and presentation will be included in the budget for these education activities.
- That the Finance and Budget Committee, in consultation with the Professional Development Committee, develop other appropriate financial policies relating to program development activities and present them to for Board approval at the July 1998 meeting.
That the Professional Development Committee establish the following schedule for the payment of fees to program developers and presenters for AALL Continuing Education Programs that are not covered by Annual Meeting registration fees.
That AALL will pay program developers $750 to create new one-day continuing education offerings. That, in some cases, due to the complexity of the program curriculum or the credentials of the developer, the development fee may be increased.
ALL contracts in a variety of ways with developers/presenters for the development of new curriculum, or for presentation of their existing curriculum.Typically, AALL will pay program developers $750.00 to create new, one-day, continuing education offerings. In some cases, due to the complexity of the program curriculum, the credentials of the developer, the size of the anticipated audience or the number of anticipated repetitions of the program, the length of the program, or the subsequent ownership of the curriculum, the development fee may be adjusted appropriately.
That AALL will pay presenters $500.00 per one-day (6 7 hours contact time) program offering. If there is more than one presenter, the total per-day presentation fee will be divided among them. If the program is more than one day, the per-day cap of $500.00 will usually apply.
That AALL will usually cap fees for presentations at a total of $250.00 per half-day (4 hours contact time) program offering. If there is more than one presenter, the total per half-day presentation fee will be divided among them.
That, in some cases, due to the complexity of the curriculum or the credentials of the speaker(s), AALL may pay presenters more than $500.00 per day.
That, over the life of a program, AALL may periodically pay presenters modest additional fees to update presentations and materials so those program offerings are current and appropriate to the location where the program will be offered.
