TYPE: Special Committee

PURPOSE: The Task Force serves to develop law student research competencies based on the Law Student Research Principles.

CHARGE: The Task Force should draft measurable competencies for legal research instruction based on the law student research principles developed by the Law Student Research Competency Standards Task Force, and approved by the Executive Board in March 2011. The Task Force is asked to submit a work plan, as an information item, to the Executive Board for its fall 2011 meeting. Further the Task Force is asked to submit a preliminary report for the spring Executive Board meeting and a final report for the summer 2012 Executive Board meeting.

TENURE: The Task Force members will serve a one-year term, ending in July 2012.

SIZE: The Task Force will consist of a Chair and six members, and a non-voting Executive Board and staff liaison.

STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS COMPLIANCE: Goal I: Leadership and Goal II: Education

RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER COMMITTEES: The Task Force will work with other AALL entities necessary, to assist them with their charge.
