March 14, 2002
West Group's Librarian Relations and Thomson University will offer a preview of their specially customized program at the 2002 AALL Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla., that trains law librarians to develop resilience and succeed during times of turbulent change.
"Life in the Fast Lane for Information Professionals" is a one-day course that prepares employees to remain high performers during periods of change at all stages in their careers. Participants will learn how they are affected by change, techniques to successfully manage change and how to respond in a variety of situations. This course is designed specifically to address the unique issues and work environments of law librarians.
The program will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 20. Because it will be held at the same time as the AALL Chapter Leadership Training, which all chapter presidents and vice presidents/presidents-elect must attend, West Group asks that each chapter designate one of its members who already plans to attend the Annual Meeting to also attend the "Life in the Fast Lane" program.
With its debut at the Annual Meeting, the "Life in the Fast Lane for Information Professionals" program kicks off a yearlong event. West Group will present this program in various cities around the United States in 2002-2003.
The program is free. The deadline for reservations is June 14. For more information or to R.S.V.P. on behalf of your chapters, please contact Lori Hedstrom, manager, West Group Librarian Relations.
