ARCHIVED: Change Comes to the Executive Board

August 15, 2002

After much thought and consideration, Elmo Dattalo resigned from his position on the Executive Board as he pursues opportunities outside of law librarianship. Elmo's fine service on the Executive Board and his congenial nature will be sorely missed, but he is certain to put his considerable talents to work as he pursues a new direction in life.

In accordance with the Association Bylaws (Article VIII, Section 8), the Executive Board shall have the power to fill any vacancy in elective offices except that of president. It is important that the Executive Board continue its work with a full and active roster of members.

Fortunately for the Executive Board and the Association, Karl Gruben of the law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, has agreed to fulfill Elmo's final year on the Executive Board. As a recent member and secretary of the Executive Board, Karl is familiar with the work and activities of the board and will be ready to take on the role of a veteran board member. Please join me in thanking Karl for taking on this responsibility as we wish Elmo success in his new pursuits.
