After 13 years of service to AALL, Director of Programs Martha Brown has resigned from the Association, effective Aug. 30.

Brown played a key role as a senior manager at Headquarters since she arrived in 1989. During her tenure, her many accomplishments included successfully managing 12 Annual Meetings; guiding the Professional Development Program since its inception; and helping develop the Competencies of Law Librarianship, which the Executive Board approved in 2000.

"On behalf of the board, I wish to thank [Martha] for [her] many years of valuable service to the Association and for the outstanding contributions that [she has] made to the success and growth of AALL into the highly professional organization that we now take tremendous pride in as members," President Carol Avery Nicholson said.

"Martha has served AALL with imagination, intelligence and the highest integrity," said AALL Executive Director Susan E. Fox. " Personally I have benefited from Martha's advice, guidance and loyalty."

After leaving AALL, Brown plans to devote her time to several long-standing interests in community projects, to spending more time with her family, and to travel.
