Susan E. Fox, CAE, will become AALL's new executive director effective Oct. 15, following a national search conducted with the assistance of the Gossage Sager Associates search firm. Fox is currently CEO of the Society of American Archivists and has more than 20 years of management and research experience.
Fox received an M.S. degree in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts in Boston, a B.S. degree from Boston University, and received certification as an association executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives. Most notably among her numerous honors and professional activities, Fox was named as a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives in 2002, a designation held by only 170 people out of a membership of 25,000.
The AALL Executive Director Search Committee was also very much impressed by Fox's outstanding references and her warm and sincere demeanor. AALL is fortunate to have found such an outstanding successor to Roger Parent, AALL's executive director since 1993.
Members of the AALL Executive Director Search Committee included Donald Dunn, chair; Janis Johnston; Anne Matthewman; Carol Avery Nicholson; Terry Psarras; and Susan Siebers. Barbara Bintliff served as Executive Board liaison and Steve Ligda served as AALL Staff liaison.
Please join the AALL Executive Board and the AALL Executive Director Search Committee in giving a warm welcome to Susan as she meets members in the weeks and months to come.
