In a few weeks, the AALL Special Committee to Develop Performance Measures For Law Librarians will e-mail an online survey to selected AALL members to help narrow its list of performance criteria for the profession.

These criteria, which include such terms as "accountability," "creativity" and "vision," will ultimately form the basis for the committee's report and recommendations to the AALL Executive Board about performance measures for law librarians. The committee was appointed to develop universal performance measures based on the AALL Competencies of Law Librarianship that can be used for self-assessment by individual librarians or for performance evaluation of law librarians by employers.

The committee encourages all AALL members who receive the online survey to complete it promptly.

Further information about the committee's work can be found in a short article on the AALLNET Web site, http://www.aallnet.org/committee/performance_news.asp.
