A Message from AALL President Carol Avery Nicholson

AALL’s fund-raising effort on behalf of the George A. Strait Minority Scholarship is well underway as member donations arrive at a commendable rate. AALL chapters and Special Interest Sections also are keenly aware of the need to ensure that our profession reflects the diversity of our society as we recruit a new generation of librarians and member volunteers.

The Southern California Association of Law Libraries has contributed $1,500 to the Strait Minority Scholarship with a challenge to each chapter to meet this generous donation.

The Academic Law Libraries Special Interest Section contributed $1,000 to the Strait Minority Scholarship with a challenge to each SIS to match its marvelous donation.

The AALL Executive Board wishes to express its gratitude to the SCALL chapter, SCALL President Cornell Winston, the ALL SIS and ALL SIS Chairperson Merle Slyhoff for their demonstrations of leadership and support.

Every donation is greatly appreciated and brings us closer to fulfilling our commitment with West to support the Strait Minority Scholarship. Please check out http://www.aallnet.org/services/strait-br.asp to make your individual contribution today.
