Highlights from Fall/Winter 2012 WPLLA Newsletter

The Fall/Winter 2012 issue of the WPLLA Newsletter has been published by the Western Pennsylvania Law Library Association. The issue contains two articles I wish to note. First, a firm librarian describes how she become embedded within two practice groups and developed specialized skills to help those attorneys. Second is an article describing two free online resources that enable you to look up historical weather data and fligth paths of private planes.

Highlights from December 2012-January 2013 ALLUNY Newsletter

The December 2012-January 2013 issue of ALLUNY Newsletter contains some items of general interest. One article discusses implementing QR codes in libraries. While this topic has been discussed elsewhere, this piece focuses on implementation and provides a useful guide to the steps that should be taken when adding QR codes to library signage and documents. Two reports on the most recent ALLUNY meeting presentations will serve as good recaps for interested librarians who could not attend.
