Do you want to become an effective advocate for law libraries but aren't sure where to begin? Do you want to learn the tools you need to get your representatives to listen when you have something to say, and the skills to build long-term relationships with your legislators? If so, we invite you to register for AALL's free online advocacy training session.

Speakers:

Mary Alice Baish, Director of Government Relations, will welcome participants and describe two of AALL's policy priorities: free access to Congressional Research Service (CRS) reports through the Internet, and the government's responsibility for authenticating and preserving online legal resources.

Emily Feldman, Advocacy Communications Assistant, will familiarize you with the Government Relations Office's helpful Web tools.

"Advocacy Guru" Stephanie Vance, who was the dynamic guest speaker at AALL's 2009 Day on the Hill, will explain how to effectively develop your messages to your legislators and strategies to take action.

Whether you're a novice or experienced advocate, this online training will provide you with practical tools to take your skills to the next level.

Format: GoToWebinar. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions via chat message throughout the session.

Cost: The advocacy training is free to AALL members via the Internet. If you prefer to listen to the audio over the phone, you may call in at your own expense.
