Today you're working in your comfort zone and tomorrow you have a request in an area for which you have very little exposure. Join two global research experts as they discuss how to approach global research, sensible starting points, legal systems and terminology, resource strategies, collections and more.

Speakers: 


Jean M. Wenger


Jean is the Government Documents/Foreign & International Law Librarian at the Cook County Law Library, the major practitioner's library in Chicago. Jean currently serves on the Executive Board of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), chairing the Executive Board Strategic Directions Committee. She is a past chair of the Foreign, Comparative and International Special Interest Section (FCIL-SIS), a former member of the Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals Committee, and a past president of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries (CALL).

Jean has authored web-based foreign and international law research guides and has spoken at professional conferences and state bar CLE programs on electronic resources and foreign and international law research. She is active with the American Society of International Law (ASIL) as a contributing author to the Electronic Information System for International Law (EISIL) and as author of the International Economic Law Chapter of the Electronic Research Guide (ERG).

Lyonette Louis-Jacques


Lyonette is the Foreign and International Law Librarian & Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago D'Angelo Law Library and has been sharing her knowledge of global legal research resources for many years.  She co-founded the INT-LAW discussion group for international law librarians and other legal information professionals and is always looking for ways to use new and emerging technologies for global legal research. 

She is a past AALL chair of the Foreign, Comparative, and International Law Special Interest Section (FCIL-SIS) and author of Jumpstart Your Foreign, Comparative, and International Research: Use People Resources. Lyonette is also a member of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) and the American Society of International Law (ASIL).
