The University of North Texas School
of Library and Information Sciences - Georgia Cohort MLS
Program is beginning a new cohort in September 2008. Through
this outstanding program, students can earn a masters degree
by participating in two four-day institutes (August 29 -
September 1, 2008 and January 16 - 19, 2009), with the
remainder of the instruction via the web. Information and

For the first time, the Emory University - Robert W.
Woodruff Libraries in partnership with the University of
North Texas School of Library and Information Sciences and
the Atlanta University Center - Robert W. Woodruff Library
is offering scholarships and related support for students
admitted to the UNT/SLIS Georgia Cohort for Fall 2008. The
funding is sponsored by the Institute for Museum and Library
Services (IMLS).
A variety of awards and enrichment activities will be
offered as part of
this program including:
$12,800 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
- Awarded to 35 students admitted to the 2008 Georgia Cohort of the
University of North Texas School of Library and Information
Sciences
- Paid in two annual increments this amount represents more than 60% of
the total current tuition cost of the UNT masters program.
- Specialized weekend seminars on Digital Libraries and Professional
Development
- Internship Opportunities at Georgia libraries including the Woodruff
Libraries at Emory University and the Atlanta University
Center
- Reimbursement for Student Dues for the American Library Association and
the Georgia Library Association
- A Mentor program to match you with a Georgia Librarian
