Law Library Assistant for Public Services
Phoenix School of Law


Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.

Job Decription: The Law Library Assistant will assist the Public Services Librarians in providing an environment conducive to studying, researching, and learning for students, staff, and faculty. To achieve this, you must be willing to have a flexible schedule, be adaptable, show initiative, possess excellent customer service skills, show great attention to detail, communicate clearly, and be willing to learn new skills while on the job.

Job duties include: Working shifts at the circulation desk, during which you will perform opening and/or closing procedures, check materials in and out, and answer general and directional questions from patrons. Performing stack maintenance, including shelf reading, shelving, locating missing volumes, facing materials, mending materials, and shifting. Acting as the IRC courier. Maintaining and ordering supplies for the public services department. Creating signage. Carrying out special projects such as book displays and inventories. Filing loose-leaf materials. Assisting in writing policies and procedures. Other duties will be assigned as needed.

Requirements: High school diploma. Two years of college education; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. Working knowledge of standard computer software, including MS Windows and MS Office applications. Knowledge of the Library of Congress classification system. Proficiency with integrated library software; III Millennium preferred. Access to reliable transportation.
