Professor Neil G. Williams

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Neil G. Williams is an Associate Professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Professor Williams teaches courses in contracts and various subjects in the area of commercial law. Prior to his professorship, he served a law clerk to the Hon. George N. Leighton on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and then practiced with the Chicago law firm of Sidley & Austin.

Outside the law school community, he sits on the Board of Directors for and serves as Secretary/Treasurer or the Midwestern People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference, a trend setting organization that Professor Norman Amaker co-founded in 1990 to promote the presence of scholars of color within legal academy. Indeed, on January 24, 2002 Professor Williams received the Law School's inaugural Norman C. Amaker Award of Excellence. Professor Williams also sits on the Steering Committee for the National People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference, and he is a past chair of the Liaison Committee between the Cook Country Bar Association and Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission.

Professor Williams received his J.D. from the University of Chicago and his B.A. from Duke University.
