Biographical Sketch

Sarah (Sally) G. Holterhoff is the Government Information/Reference Librarian at Valparaiso University Law Library. She is currently the Vice-President/President-Elect of the American Association of Law Libraries and is scheduled to assume the Presidency at the conclusion of the 2006 annual meeting in St. Louis . She will lead AALL for 2006/2007 culminating in the annual meeting scheduled for July 2007 in New Orleans .

Sally previously served as an Executive Board member from 2000-2003. Her AALL activities have included chairing the Council of Chapter Presidents, the Public Relations Committee, the Government Relations Committee, and the Government Documents Special Interest Section. Her work as Chair of the Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Chapter Relations in 1996-97 was recognized with an AALL Presidential Certificate of Merit.

Sally has been a devoted and active member of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries since 1983. Most notably she was on the Board from 1994 to 1996, serving as President of CALL in 1995-1996. She has been on many CALL committees including Public Relations, Continuing Education, Public Affairs, the CALL Bulletin, Nominations, Elections and Chapter Awards. In 1998 CALL awarded her the Agnes and Harvey T. Reid Award for Outstanding Contribution to Law Librarianship.

In addition to CALL she is active in the Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries (ORALL) and served as an Executive Board member of ORALL from 1992-1994. She is also a former member of the Depository Library Council to the Public Printer and served as a delegate to the Indiana Governor’s Conference on Library and Information Services.

She has been a regular contributor to the CALL Bulletin and has also written for the AALL Spectrum.
