The Colorado Association of Law Libraries (CoALL) began in 1977 as the Colorado Consortium of Law Libraries. In 1984 the organization petitioned the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) to become an official chapter of that organization. Their petition was accepted, and the name was changed to Colorado Association of Law Libraries to reflect their new affiliation. On October 25, 2007, a 30th Anniversary Celebration was held, and Governor Ritter proclaimed the day to be Colorado Association of Law Libraries Day.
