Portals to the World contain selective links providing authoritative, in-depth information about the nations and other areas of the world. They are arranged by country or area with the links for each sorted into a wide range of broad categories. The links were selected by Area Specialists and other Library staff using Library of Congress selection criteria. When completed, the project will include all the nations of the world.

Australia

Bilateral and multilateral treaties back to 1939. Full text.

United States

From the Senate's web site. Treaties submitted by the President to the Senate, treaties in consideration, approved treaties, other treaty actions.

United States

From the United States Government Printing Office. Can search by either the 104th or 105th Congress and retrieve the full text, summary and PDF file. Others may be obtained by faxing the Senate Document Room at 202/228-2815.

European Union

Selected instruments from treaties, full text. Updated versions of major treaties available.

United Nations

Includes many treaties registered with the UN, may search by multiple fields. Must subscribe for access to the database.

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
