Freeport is accessible by car or taxi. At this time there is no public transportation directly to Freeport but you can take the Concord Trailways bus line to Portland, Maine, 25 miles south of Freeport and then take a public taxi to Freeport

Car rental companies are in Brunswick, Portland and at the Portland Jetport.

To Freeport
Go north on Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 6A for South Portland
( $.50 toll)

Go north on Rte. 295 (designated I-95 north of Falmouth)

Take Exit 19, Desert Road, Freeport (Some exits are being renumbered, but you will see Desert Road, Freeport)

Now follow either of the directions given below 

To Comfort Suites
Just before exiting you may notice the Comfort Suites on your right from the highway

Turn right onto Desert Road

Immediately turn right again onto Rte. 1 South

Travel about a half mile. Comfort Suites will be on your right

To the Stone House
Turn right onto Desert Road and continue north, through the light(s) and into downtown Freeport

Turn right onto Bow Street after Ralph Lauren (opposite Ben & Jerry's and L.L.Bean) and travel about 2.5 miles

Bear right onto Wolfe's Neck Road and go 2.25 miles, passing  the entrance to the State Park, to the very end of the road (the road is dirt in the State Park then returns to tar)

Parking: 
Park in the lot adjacent to the house and beside the large white barn 50 yards from the house. Cars cannot be parked on the side of the entry road.

Any carpooling to the Stone House will reduce emissions and help maintain the rural character of the peninsula.
