Insurance Law

National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)

The NAIC is the largest professional association for state insurance regulators. The web site offers a clickable map of insurance regulators, allowing easy access to state insurance departments' web sites. The site contains Model Laws, drafts of Model Acts and Regulations, newsletters, press releases, abstracts from the Journal of Insurance Regulation, and other publications that contain financial, statistical and regulatory information pertaining to all areas of insurance law. Researchers can also use the NAIC search engine to access all the information NAIC has on a particular subject, including publications available, upcoming meetings, etc.

Legal Information Institute (LII)

This page is published jointly by Cornell Law School and the Legal Information Institute. It is an excellent resource for finding primary materials on insurance law. Insurance Information Institute (III)

This site attempts to answer any question insurance consumers may have regarding insuring home, auto, business, and other belongings. It also provides statistics and current updates on a wide variety of insurance issues, and gives advice on how to save money on insurance costs. There is a link for catastrophes within News Media, which provides researchers with information regarding earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and fires. Also available are links to the financial services industry and the international insurance marketplace. Users can also click on Media Tools to preview some of III's video and radio news releases.
