The SEC
provides an extensive web site on securities law. EDGAR (Electronic
Data Gathering, Analysis, & Retrieval) performs automated collection,
validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by public
domestic companies. EDGAR filings are posted within 24-48 hours of filing.
Also available on the web site is the SEC News Digest, which provides
daily information on recent Commission actions, including enforcement
proceedings, rule filings, and policy statements. Covered at this site
are press releases, congressional testimony given by members of the
SEC, recent speeches by the SEC Chair and the Commissioner of the SEC,
which generally cover a wide range of topics concerning the state of
the markets and the Commissioners regulatory agenda. Another resource
on this page is the significant legal briefs filed by the Commissioner
in cases raising important securities law issues.

law. Users can register to receive the newsletter via e-mail. The site
provides current information about the Dow 30 and current market. Also

and mediation links are very helpful for researchers in the law of securities.
