MAALL

Committee News and Projects

Education Committee:

The Education Committee invites program proposals for the 2007 MAALL meeting scheduled for November 1-3rd in Lincoln, Nebraska. The theme for the 2007 meeting is MAALL: The Possibilities are Limitless. We are interested in programs that appeal to the various types of member libraries in varying formats and varying lengths. We plan to make use of videoconferencing at the meeting so even if you don't plan to physically attend the meeting you can still virtually present a program. Please submit program proposals using this form to lpeoples@okcu.edu . If you have an idea that you would like to discuss please contact a committee member.

Service to the Public Committee:

The 2004-2005 MAALL Service to the Public Committee has created a referral tool based on a questionnaire developed by last year's Committee. Questions about each member library's services to the public include policies, hours, special resources, parking issues, Internet access, and photocopy services. The results are now being posted on the MAALL web site.

We hope you find the information useful when referring public patrons to other nearby law libraries. Once we've received completed questionnaires from more MAALL libraries we plan to announce the listings to public libraries in the region.

The Grants Committee:

The Grants Committee reestablished the Staff Exchange Program.  Read more about it here .

Mentor/Mentee Program Requirements and Form

The program began because MAALL members saw a need to enhance work capabilities of new librarians and to help them meet the challenge involved in working in law libraries. This new program meets this need by fostering a mentoring relationship with an experienced law librarian. New law librarians can gain access to someone who will listen to their problems and questions and provide feedback and possible solutions.
