MAALL Requirements to be a Mentor
- 3+ years of law library experience.
- Minimum commitment of one year (with option to continue)
- Willingness to communicate with your mentee 4-6 times during the year.
- Complete the form, Request to be a Law Library Mentor , and send it to the current Chair of the MAALL Membership Committee.
Mentor Responsibilities
- Become familiar with mentee by reading his/her resume.
- Respond in a timely manner to mentee's questions.
- Be available to supervise and/or assist mentee with meeting the core competencies of law librarianship as outlined by AALL.
- Introduce the mentee to other professionals at conventions or other professional meetings.
- If possible, allow the mentee to "shadow" you for a day (not required)
Mentee Requirements/Responsibilities
- Less than 3 years of law library experience.
- Minimum commitment of one year (with option to continue)
- Work toward meeting the core competencies of law librarianship as outlined by AALL.
- Complete the form, Request to Have a Law Library Mentor , attach a copy of your resumé and send it to the current Chair of the MAALL Membership Committee.
