Basic qualifications and job descriptions of the Executive Board openings are:

Vice President/President Elect: 

• time commitment is 3 years: 1 as VP, 1 as President and 1 as past President
• you must be a member in good standing of the Michigan Association of Law Libraries and the American Association of Law Libraries
• as President you are the liaison person for MichALL to the American Association of Law Libraries and therefore represent our organization at the AALL annual meeting
• as President you chair the Executive Board and appoint the chairs of all MichALL committees; past practice has been that the Executive Board meets every other Month
• as Vice President you chair the Education committee and are responsible for planning the annual meeting; the planning includes determining the location as well as the educational content of the meeting
• as past President you will chair the Nominations and Grants committees; in this position you will work with others to fill vacancies on the Executive Board and if any grants are offered by the organization the committee will disseminate the information and make the selection

Secretary: 

• time commitment is 2 years
• you must be a member in good standing with the Michigan Association of Law Libraries
• duties include:
  1. keeping the minutes of all business meetings and executive board meetings
  2. ensure the minutes are published in the MichALL newsletter
  3. when requested sending notices to the membership and mailing out ballots

Member at Large: 

• time commitment is 2 years
• you must be a member in good standing with the Michigan Association of Law Libraries
• serve as the voice of MichALL members at Executive Board meetings
• when requested by the President, you will serve as an executive board liaison to a MichALL committee
