Technical Services Assistant; UC Irvine School of Law; Irvine
Under the general supervision of the Associate Librarian for Technical Services and the Circulation Services Manager with coordination of various duties by the Electronic Resources and Metadata Librarian, as appropriate. Must recognize and understand legal publication formats. Receives materials in all formats and prepares invoices for processing. Maintains accurate records in the integrated library system. Processes claims. May perform part of physical processing such as item creation and label generation. Pulls and collates materials for binding, prints binding list for UC Bindery Shipments. Checks-in legal materials and claims missing issues at the point of check-in, in the online serial system. Works regular shifts at the Law Library Service Desk and performs related tasks. Coordinates the opening and closing of the Law Library as needed. Oversees student workers as appropriate. Performs special projects as assigned by supervisor(s).
Special Projects and Other Duties
Cross trains other staff based upon department needs. Learns and performs cross training responsibilities efficiently according to the standards for said duties. Participates in committees and groups as assigned. Works to fulfill the charge by researching the topic, recommending solutions, assisting in decision making and meeting deadlines for assignments. Participates in special project assignments meeting all expectations and deadlines set out by the person making the project assignment. Manages work to prevent backlogs. Meets established standards and timelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary: Hourly $17.75
