Research/Reference Librarian; Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP; Los Angeles

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP, a nationwide firm headquartered in Denver, Colorado with offices in 5 states and Washington, D.C., is seeking a Research/Reference Librarian to join the Brownstein Library team as one of two full time reference librarians for the firm. Based in the Los Angeles office, this Librarian will work closely with the Library director and staff in Denver and Las Vegas. Some travel between the California offices (Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego) will be required.

A Master's Degree in Library Science and previous California law library experience are required.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with other members of the library services department to meet the information needs of attorneys and staff in all twelve Brownstein offices
  • Makes use of California specific resources to locate obscure information
  • Provides assistance to users of both the physical and electronic library resources
  • Participates in collection development
  • Requests and manages interlibrary and interoffice loans
  • Participates in and sometimes leads orientation and training programs
  • May develop documentation and training materials for library research and electronic resource instruction programs
  • Bills time for reference/research
  • Is active in professional organizations (AALL, SCALL)
  • Develops relationships with local law librarians
  • Assists in content upkeep for the library's intranet page
  • Some technical services responsibilities
