Summary of Position: This position will join a highly collaborative team in performing legal and business research to support our attorneys across the firm, including research in support of client legal needs and to further the firm’s business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal research support for the firm’s West Coast offices working standard business hours for the Pacific Standard Time Zone
  • Perform legal, business, and litigation research using print and electronic resources, focusing primarily on labor and employment law, industry, and labor climate
  • Pursue independent research projects to further local, regional, or firm-wide initiatives of the Knowledge Management Department, and/or the firm
  • Train attorneys and staff in the use of research resources
  • Collaborate with the Research Team on large projects


  • Master of Library and/or Information Science
  • Minimum of two or more years of legal research / law librarian experience
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills are required
  • Experience with California legal research resources helpful
  • Must be detail and technology oriented
  • Proficiency in Excel is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in WestlawNext and/or Lexis
  • Knowledge of BNA Labor and Employment Law Resource Center and/or CCH IntelliConnect preferred
  • Knowledge of BNA Labor PLUS and/or LRI Labor Libraries preferred
  • Ability and willingness to prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction while adapting to changing priorities and work demands
  • Superior customer service/interpersonal skills
  • Expert ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or independently
  • Ability to work a standard shift for Pacific Standard Time Zone

This position may be staffed from the firm’s Administrative headquarters in Greenville, SC, or one of these west coast locations (subject to approval):

  • Phoenix or Tucson, AZ
  • Costa Mesa, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, CA
  • Las Vegas, NV
  • Portland, OR
