The LA Law Library seeks a Senior Librarian - Branch and Partnerships. Under the general direction of the Senior Director, Library Operations this new position will plan, implement and manage day-to-day activities of the LA Law Library’s Branch locations and serve as the key point of contact and management for the development and implementation of public library, court and bar partnerships. In addition, this position will work in coordination with other Senior Librarians within Library Operations to initiate and develop programs and projects that expand the collection, services and the use of the LA Law Library.

Minimum requirements include:

• MA or MLS from an accredited ALA approved library school;
  
• 7 years demonstrated organization and management within a firm or public law library reference service;
  
• supervisory experience;
  
• thorough understanding and use of legal databases

Knowledge of:

• Professional law librarianship concepts, principles and practices.
  
• Understanding of law librarianship as practiced in public, firm and/or academic law library.
  
• Familiarity with reference techniques and bibliography.

Ability to:

• Plan, organize and direct law library branches and partnerships that expand the main library services to a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual urban community.
  
• Work effectively with the public, legal community, the judiciary and government officials.
  
• Coordinate the work of both professional and paraprofessional staff.
  
• Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  
• Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff.
