Job Description
The Campbell University , Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law Library is seeking an experienced reference librarian to join our team of skilled professionals. In addition to participating in law library instructional programs, the reference librarian will participate in reference desk rotation including weekends and evenings, collection development, conduct individual research consultations, develop and author research guides, and participate in the faculty liaison program.
Responsibilities
Reference Librarians at Campbell work as a team of skilled and experienced professionals that:

Qualifications and Experience
Required

The ideal candidate will have experience working in an academic law library; exceptional written and oral communication skills as well as leadership and teaching skills. The candidate will have a commitment to service, outstanding organizational and time-management skills, strong supervisory skills, and a strong work ethic. The candidate should have knowledge of current information technologies, database and Internet searching proficiencies, and a mastery of basic legal research sources and techniques using both print and electronic materials. The Wolf Law Library at the College of William & Mary will be hiring a Reference Librarian to join our staff. Reporting to the Head of Research and Instructional Services, the Reference Librarian provides reference assistance, assists in teaching the research component of the Law School's Legal Skills program, participates in teaching advanced research, and makes presentations to individuals and classes. The Wolf Law Library has 16 full-time staff members, half of whom are librarians.
Qualifications: Masters degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited graduate school and a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Prior law library experience is preferred. The Position
The Law Library is administered as part of the College of Law and the Associate Dean for Library and Technology Services will report directly to the Dean of the College. Coordinates with Assistant Director in providing professional development opportunities. Provides assistance to other Public Services managers with personnel administration in their departments and works with staff to resolve problems in Public Services.
• Consults with other key personnel on electronic, Web 2.0 tools, and other media based resources.
• Provides reference assistance at the library's reference desk, including some evenings and weekends.
• Assists in setting institutional policy for use of information services for faculty, staff, and students. Investigates, recommends, and assists the Associate Dean in the development of new patron and information technology services.

Qualifications
Required:
Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school; J.D. from an ABA- accredited law school
A minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible academic law library experience required. This experience should include serving in a supervisory capacity in public services administration.

Research and Instructional Technology Librarian - Florida International University College of Law Florida International University is a diverse, public research university serving 38,000 students. Overview: The Lawton Chiles Law Library at the University of Florida Levin College of Law seeks an Instructional Services Reference Librarian. Responsibilities:
Researches and develops distance learning alternatives:

The NCCU School of Law was founded in 1939 to provide an opportunity for legal education to African Americans. Position Duties :
Instruction & Training: Develops and implements policies and procedures related to teaching and reference services; serves as liaison to Legal Writing Program; participates in teaching first year legal research and persuasion courses and upper level research courses and creates, coordinates and promotes library services, instructional services and educational programs that familiarize students and faculty with library resources.
Library Management: Serves as a member of the Law Library Management Team; directs library activities in the Director?s absence; oversees the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation and staff development of the Reference Department and other professional librarians as assigned.
Works with reference librarians to provide extensive reference and research assistance to patrons, including, participation in the Library Faculty Liaison Program by providing liaison services to an assigned group of faculty members; preparation research bibliographies, user guides and other research aids; participation in the selection of information resources; provision of reference and research assistance to faculty, students, staff, the local bar and the public; and development and marketing of outreach initiatives to educate faculty and students about library services.

Required: A Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA approved law school and an MLS from an ALA accredited institution with a minimum of five years experience in an academic or law firm library and a demonstrated record of providing sophisticated research assistance to faculty or attorneys. Candidates must also have excellent written and oral communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and a familiarity with and understanding of legal research materials in all formats. Job Desription: Barry University School of Law Library in Orlando is looking for a full-time Acquisitions/Catalog Librarian to manage and participate in the acquisitions, cataloging and authority control operations of the School of Law Library, and to assist with collection development activities for the School of Law Library. Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for oversight of acquisitions, cataloging, and authority control activities in the Technical Services Department. Manages library's United Nations' depository account.
Using current national and local standards, performs original and complex copy cataloging and classification of library materials in all formats, using appropriate documentation and resources. Maintains authority control for Barry University's online catalog (BLISSweb). Performs database maintenance and ensures quality control of bibliographic records. Maintains awareness of current and emerging standards in cataloging (such as RDA and FRBR), and oversees local implementation of changes in national standards, rules and best practices for cataloging. Plan, implement and oversee the outsourcing of selected cataloging and authority control to outside, commercial vendors.
Assists with managing and developing the law library's collections. Works closely with the library faculty and teaching faculty to establish and execute ongoing collection review, including the routine analysis of collection needs. Assists with regular reassessment of library's approval plan profiles. Assists with updating and regular review of the library's Collection Development Policy. Identifies collection management projects including weeding and donations.
Engages in original research, publishing and other activities, to meet criteria outlined in campus promotion and tenure guidelines.

Associate Dean for Information Resources
Florida International University is a diverse research university serving more than 38,000 students. Its College of Law, authorized by the Florida Legislature in 2000, opened its doors to its Inaugural Class in 2002. The law school was provisionally approved by the American Bar Association in 2004 and fully approved in 2006, the shortest possible time for attaining full accreditation. It is presently a candidate for membership in the Association of American Law Schools.
The College of Law is seeking an Associate Dean for Information Resources, with primary responsibilities for the Law Library. The Associate Dean will have significant responsibility for the development of the collection, for the hiring and supervision of professional, technical, and support staff, and for the management of the information resources of the law library. • Time In Service: Time in service with other federal agencies and prior military service is credited for the purpose of computing employee leave and retirement benefits.
• Retirement: Employees contribute 8.45% of their salary toward a retirement plan under the Federal Employees Retirement System, to which the government also contributes. Of that 8.45%, 6.2% goes to social security, 1.45% goes to Medicare, and .8% goes to the FERS Basic Benefit Plan. Employees may also participate in a voluntary tax-deferred Thrift Savings Plan [similar to “401(k)” plans]. Georgetown Law Library seeks an energetic librarian to provide extensive reference service to the Law Center's faculty and students by participating in the reference desk rotation including evenings and weekends, individual research consultations, writing research guides, and participating in other law library instructional programs as needed.
Required: M.L.S. degree from an ALA-accredited library school; knowledge of legal materials, and excellent communications skills.
Preferred: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or significant law library experience. Experience with legal research materials, including online legal databases. Awareness of current trends in legal research, library automation and library instructional programs. Familiarity in working with international and comparative legal materials. Preferably one to three years of professional experience in a law or academic library, and experience with teaching legal research.
Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

IAP World Services Inc. requires a Library Technician services to perform contract work for the U.S. Geological Survey Library in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Duties include working under the guidelines and procedures of the Headquarter Library Cataloging Department, balancing workload to ensure smooth workflow, coordinating all technical services (including bar coding, inventory, online record maintenance, receiving and processing library material, and preservation of library materials), training staff, answering questions of employees on procedures and policies of the technical service section, and cataloging.
Cataloging responsibilities include:
Full copy cataloging of new materials involves the following procedures:
• Assigning call number to items cataloged
• Identifying the best OCLC record for the piece either for full cataloging or editing intermediate or minimal records to meet the standards of USGS cataloging
• Completion of cataloging involving the importing the records into the Horizon database and bar coding the pieces.
Intermediate cataloging of item records on the Horizon system conducted on materials that do not need full cataloging. This procedure makes it possible to find item records in the database and allows the item to circulate.
Inputing temporary records for serials, monographs, maps, AV materials, etc. that need full cataloging on Horizon. This procedure makes items accessible while the item is waiting for full cataloging from the Reston Library's cataloging unit. Selected items receive a call number and are processed so they can be located in the library collections. Title pages and other information needed for cataloging are forwarded to Reston catalogers for original cataloging.
Starting Salary: $14.08/ hr plus $3.24/hr Health and Welfare benefits waiving remuneration Qualified candidates must be able to perform normal office duties, use general office systems, and operate computer equipment.
