SFALL Through the Years

Annual Report, 1981-82

The South Florida Association of Law Libraries (SFALL) was granted chapter status by AALL in 1981 at the annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

The fiscal year of SFALL runs from September 1 to August 31. Meetings are held in October, December, February, April and June. A Newsletter is published in the months of September, November, January, March and May. The Association is inactive during the months of July and August.

The following members served in offices this year: Leila S. Glenn, President; Carol A. Roehrenbeck, Vice-President/President-elect; Mary F. Cross, Secretary; and Charles Ferguson, Treasurer. There are approximately 65 members, a number which grows monthly.

The Association serves a five-county area and attempts to meet in a variety of locations to accomodate its members. This year meetings were held in Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.

Several projects have been undertaken this year, and it is hoped that all of them will be completed by the June meeting (at which time the 1982-83 officers will be installed). Most notable among the year's projects were: (1) An all-day educational workshop in September on Private Law Libraries, chaired by member Angela Stramiello. (2) A membership directory. (3) Incorporation of the Association under Florida law. (4) Establishment of an archive of Association records at the University of Miami Law Library. (5) Design and purchase of letterhead stationary. (6) Drafting of a policy statement governing award of grants to members for educational pursuits:
