Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates cataloging activities, including the creation of bibliographic database for public access catalog. Performs original copy cataloging and classification of legal monographs, serials, audio-visual materials, and electronic resources in an OCLC/INNOPAC environment. Participates in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure efficient operation in an automated technical services environment. Regulates and adjusts workflow to increase productivity. Selects, trains, and supervises assigned support staff, including work allocation, problem resolution, and performance evaluation. Makes recommendations for personnel actions. Recommends titles for purchase by the library and conducts inventory of the library’s holdings. Develops and implements procedures for weeding the collection. Assists in collection, evaluation, and identification of superceded editions and other items. Coordinates technical services practices and developments with Public Service Department. Prepares acquisitions lists. Processes and supervises interlibrary loan requests and transits. Prepares materials for mailing. Maintains files and computer records of requests. Conducts ongoing reviews of new records added to INNOPACdatabase. Performs quality control activities for bibliographic records, including authority controlled name series and subject headings. Updates, corrects, and makes changes to item and bibliographic records in database. Compiles and maintains statistical data for various reports related to usage and expenditures of library services. Prepares statistical reports and analyses on materials added to and withdrawn from the collection. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Electronic Resources Librarian (Law Librarian) - Texas Southern University
Plans, coordinates, and supervises library services and operations, including circulation, reserve, collection management, and photocopy services, during the evening and weekend hours. Ensures compliance with University and library policies and procedures. Provides general legal reference and research services to students, faculty, and public library patrons, with particular emphasis on electronic resources such as CD-ROM databases and the Internet. Manages the development and teaching of computer-assisted legal research instructional programs. Provides electronic current awareness service for faculty. Prepares user aids such as bibliographies, user guides, research and instructional-based pathfinders, exhibits, and newsletters on the library. Performs on-line database searches. Develops documentation and guides for electronic resources. Assists in supervising and training student workers. Compiles and maintains statistical data for various reports related to reference services, library services and departmental activities. Participates in the process to review, evaluate, and select electronic resources for library collection development. Assists in the development and updating of the content of the law library Web pages. Serves as library liaison with database vendors. Acts as liaison to faculty regarding electronic research projects. Recommends policies and procedures and coordinates user services with other library departments. Processes (arranges, preserves, and describes) historical materials in accordance with standard archival practice. Creates finding aids; compiles inventories for unprocessed collections; and updates finding aids for partially processed collections. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
