Speaker:
Amy Hale Janeke, Reference Librarian, San Diego County Public Law Library
Coordinator:
Kathryn C. Fitzhugh, University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law Library
The
information age has forced law librarians to shift into new roles – as
teachers, instructors, and guides. Although many patrons come to us with
varying levels of legal knowledge, many of them ask the same type of
questions. Thus, teaching patrons how to use the law library is the next
logical step in the right direction. This program will demonstrate how to
craft a lesson plan, design handouts, and compose marketing materials to
promote a public legal research class. It will also demonstrate how to
effectively present the material and discuss how to effectively market your
class.
