Appellate Court Decisions The appellate courts include the courts of last resort and intermediate appellate courts. The jurisdiction of the appellate courts varies by state. Decisions may involve civil and criminal cases, interpret statutes, address procedural matters and more. Some states have official state reporters of decisions who publish the opinions. All published state opinions are available in West's Regional Reporter system. There may be additional publishers of the opinions in print and/or electronic format.
