Good Overall Judicial Site

A comprehensive judicial site should have  opinions of the court, court rules, jurisdiction of the court, information about the justices/judges and their terms, and contact information. The opinions and court rules should be searchable.

North Dakota Supreme Court, http://www.court.state.nd.us/

  1. Opinions available from mid-1993 to the present. Additional retrospective coverage will be added.
  2. The opinions are posted in full-text in html format and have summaries available.
  3. There is a search capability as well as access by date, subject, party, Justice, Trial Judge, North Dakota citation and Northwest 2d citation.
  4. There is an overview of the North Dakota Court system.
  5. It is easy to get to this page from the state homepage.
  6. The date of the most recent opinions indicates when the page was most recently updated.
  7. North Dakota has adopted a "medium neutral" citation format which is clearly explained on the site.
  8. There is biographical information on the justices, court rules and contact information for the clerk of court's office.
  9. An unusual feature is the addition of hypertext links within the most recent opinions to other opinions, court rules, and information about the attorneys, judges and justices.
