State Codes

State codes (also called statutes or statutory codes) are the subject compilation of the laws passed by the legislature and currently in force.

  1. This site includes the most current version of the statutes by the Office of the Revisor of Statutes, Session Laws and the State Constitution.
  2. Full text of each chapter is available with or without most coding and hyperlinks to other code sections.
  3. The keyword searching software is available through Infoseek, a commercial service and part of the website.
  4. Searchable by keyword or code section and there is also a scrollable numerical code section list.
  5. There is a very good description of what a code is and how it is distinguished from other documents.
  6. There is a document retention statement.
  7.  The last modified and responsible party statements are on the first page of the site.
  8. It is clear that this is a collaborative effort between agencies.
