AALL Centennial Celebration Committee
(Special Committee)

Charge and Size

Charge: The committee shall implement the comprehensive plan approved by the Executive Board in November 2002 for the celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Association in 2006. The celebration should begin at the Annual Meeting in July 2005 and conclude in July 2006 and entail activities throughout the year. The CCC will coordinate plans to celebrate the occasion with appropriate AALL entities including Chapters and vendors; communicate and work with the Public Relations Committee and the editors of the Law Library Journal and AALL Spectrum to promote the event and coordinate appropriate ways to document the historical record; and maintain a cooperative working relationship with the St. Louis Local Advisory Committee. The Committee's work will be guided by the timeline recommended by the Centennial Planning Task Force and will adhere to the budget approved by the Executive Board. The CCC may also include a fund-raising component for the celebration.

The Centennial Celebration Committee should be creative, resourceful and seek input from the membership.

The Committee shall provide the Executive Board with interim reports between 2003 and 2006 at each quarterly meeting and a final report summarizing the celebratory activities in November 2006.

Size: The Committee will consist of a Chair and eight members. The members will be appointed in spring 2003 and serve until the conclusion of the Centennial Annual Meeting in 2006. A non-voting Executive Board liaison will be appointed. The staff liaison will be the Executive Director.
