Lexis Publishing Customer Service Letter
Dear Information Professional: In our last correspondence, we communicated the changes you'd begin to see to the look of our publications with the uniting of the LEXIS Publishing™ family of companies. Since that time, other changes have occurred regarding Fulfillment and Customer Service that will enable us to provide you more effective and efficient service. We'd like to share these changes with you. 1) Charlottesville, VA Customer Service consolidating in Albany, NY. At the end of February, we announced the consolidation of the Charlottesville, VA Customer Service function in Albany, NY. Effective the end of July, all Customer Service functions were successfully moved to Albany with no disruption in service to you. As a valued customer, servicing you is our number one priority. The consolidation took place in order to make it easier for you to do business with us and for us to manage the combined LEXIS Publishing operations more effectively and efficiently. Customer Service telephone numbers remain the same as before and are simply rerouted to Albany.
2) LEXIS Publishing products now shipped from Conklin, NY. We have begun shipping virtually all LEXIS Publishing (MICHIE™, Matthew Bender®, and Shepard's®) publications from our Conklin, NY Distribution Center. The most significant change that affects you, our customers, is that returns must be sent to Conklin rather than to Charlottesville, as before. All else remains the same. The only products NOT shipped from Conklin are shipments of subscription products manufactured at the MICHIE facility in Charlottesville. However, returns of these products must be sent to Conklin. 3) Credit & Collections, Accounts Receivable and Cashiering functions consolidating in Albany. After detailed consideration, we have also concluded that we can best serve our customers, by consolidating the Credit & Collections, Accounts Receivable and Cashiering functions in Albany for the Matthew Bender, MICHIE and Shepard's print and CD-ROM publications, as well. This process will be completed in early 2001. Until then, your invoices and account numbers remain the same. The new mailing addresses are as follows:

Watch for a new feature on the Web site beginning in July especially for Technical Services Librarians -- a monthly listing of all publications shipped.
