Resources CRIV has developed tangible resources to help librarians work more effectively with publishers. Chief among these are CRIV Tools, practical resources designed to assist librarians in their day-to-day interactions with the legal publishing world. Topics include sample letters to vendors, dealing with telemarketers, and getting results from customer service. The latest CRIVTool provides tips to help you make the best use of the exhibit hall. Another new Tool is the Divested titles list, which helps librarians track down the current publisher of titles whose original publisher has ceased to exist. With so many wonderful web resources, why reinvent the wheel? Our web links page provides quick connections to AcqWeb, copyright permission pages, Rob Richard's excellent "Who Own What?" list, and more. For years, law librarians have relied on the FTC Guides for the Law Book Industry to help in dealing with vendor problems. The guides were rescinded in January 2000, but are included here as background resources for the important work of the AALL Special Committee on Fair Business Practices. |
