Divested Titles List

As law publishers have merged over the past decade, and titles were divested from one to another, librarians have found it increasingly difficult to keep track of the current publisher for particular titles.

CRIV has compiled a consolidated list of these divested titles with a goal of providing a quick reference for those seeking to determine if a particular title is still being published, and if so, by whom.

Information on the following pages was provided by Aspen Publishing, Lexis Publishing, RIA Group, and West Group. CRIV has compiled the list from these sources and should not be held responsible for its accuracy.

• Original pre-divestiture publisher (e.g., Shepard's)
• Current publisher and date of take over
• Date ceased (if title died as result of divestiture)
• Author(s)

Not included:

• Interim publishers
• Original date of publication
• Titles originally published by a company later "swallowed whole" by another [Clark Boardman Callaghan (CBC) by West; Michie by Lexis Publishing; Little, Brown Law by Aspen; Wiley Law by Aspen]
• Titles originally published by one company, taken over by another, but ceased publication before the latest mergers.
