University of South Carolina – Institute for Public Service and Policy Research: Brown V. Board of Education
The Institute for Public Service and Policy Research has embarked on a two-year project to mark the 50th anniversary of the landmark 1954 decision of the U.S. Supreme Court abolishing segregation in public schools. The project will culminate in the publication of a series of papers published by the Institute on May 17, 2004, examining the status of African-Americans and race relations in South Carolina and making public policy recommendations for eliminating the vestiges of segregation which linger in various aspects of current life in the state.

Washburn University School of Law – The Brown Foundation for Educational Equity, Excellence and Research
The Brown Foundation for Educational Equity, Excellence and Research was established in 1988 as a living tribute to the attorneys and plaintiffs in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision of 1954 Brown v the Board of Education. This decision signaled the end of legal segregation on the basis of race in this country. The mission and purpose of the Foundation is to further educational equity and multi-cultural understanding in order to improve the quality of life for individuals and strengthen our overall sense of community.
