AALL Minority Scholarship Support

The Committee on Diversity encourages minority members to apply for the following financial awards. 

Minority Leadership Development Award

This award was created to ensure that AALL’s leadership remains vital, relevant and representative of the Association’s diverse membership. Benefits of the award include travel, lodging and registration expenses to attend the AALL Annual Meeting; an experienced AALL leader to serve as the recipient’s mentor for at least one year; and an opportunity to serve on an AALL committee during the year following the award.

AALL & West- George A. Strait Minority Scholarship Endowment 

The George A. Strait Minority Scholarship Endowment  was named in honor of George A. Strait, a prominent minority librarian. The endowment provides scholarship support to minority students pursuing a graduate degree in Library Science.
