Distance from: Seattle, WA : 85 miles. Portland, OR : 168 miles.
VEHICLE: $10.00 for 7 Days, covers everyone in a single, non-commercial vehicle for one week. Does NOT cover camping fees.

Getting there by car - Year-round access to the park is via SR 706 to the Nisqually Entrance in the SW corner of the park. Summer access is available via Hwy. 410 on the N and E sides of the park. (see website for further details)

Parking can be difficult or impossible to find on sunny summer weekends at Paradise, Sunrise, Grove of the Patriarchs, and at trailheads between Longmire and Paradise. Try to visit these areas on weekdays, arrive early in the day, and carpool to the park. Parking is not permitted along road edges.

There are also several private carriers that offer day tours to the mountain.

Climbing Permits are required year-round to climb above 4,800 feet elevation. A fee of $15.00 per person is charged for a one day climbing permit from April 1 through October 31. Climbing is limited to 100 climbers a day from May 15 through October 31.

A 534-acre natural area park, the largest city park in Seattle. The secluded site includes two miles of protected tidal beaches as well as open meadow lands, dramatic sea cliffs, forest groves, active sand dunes, thickets and streams. Amazing views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

Located on Lake Union, this park offers a great view of the city. Also a favorite spot for flying a kite.

Greenlake (5.4 miles from Convention Center)

The newly reconstructed 2.8-mile path around the lake provides a perfect recreational spot for runners, bikers, skaters and walkers and the adjacent 3.2 mile trail is ideal for joggers. Many others use the athletic fields or visit the park for boating, picnics and swimming.
