
Nominations and Elections Schedule 2009 (for 2010 roster)
January:
- Determine work plan
- Develop timeline
- Check Bylaws for ground rules
- Update committee web site
- Collect data from prior year's committee
February:
- Publicize the work of the committee and solicit names of potential candidates
- Committee members send names of potential candidates to form the beginning of our list of potential nominees to Chair
- Invite AALL members to suggest names of potential candidates
- Update leadership database of names to be used to identify candidates to contact
March:
- Hold telephone conference to analyze the list of submitted names and determine and rank leading candidates
April:
- Chair contacts leading candidates to determine their willingness to serve if nominated
- Develop draft slate of candidates and alternates
May:
- Contact draft slate to confirm commitments
- Send formal letters of nomination to candidates
- Secure written letters of acceptance from candidates
June:
- Finalize slate for submission to Executive Board
- Prepare report for Executive Board
