Moving to a New Department?

Following this procedure will ensure that your materials are moved properly and that they will continue to be updated promptly in the future.

  • The Executive Office will notify the Library of your upcoming move.
  • The Library will contact you approximately 10 days before the move to make an appointment with you to plan the move.
  • The Library will provide you with your department's current inventory of materials. You will be asked to circle on the inventory any materials you are requesting to be moved to your new department. The Executive Office will decide which titles may be moved and which standard materials must remain in the department. It’s important to remember that materials are purchased for the tasks performed by that department.
  • You will also be asked what date you want your newspaper to begin being delivered to your new department.
  • Submit the marked inventory list to Anita Bartalini, Law Library, mail code 115-01. The list will be returned to you after approval by the Executive Office. Please note that if materials are removed from departments without approval, new editions and updates may not be provided. If the Library does not have an accurate location for materials, we cannot update the material.
  • Before your moving day, the Library will mark library materials and coordinate the move with Facilities.
