Annual Reports of the Public Relations Committee1980-19811980-1981 Public Relations CommitteeThe Public Relations Committee met in St. Louis and agreed on several projects to be explored during the 1980-81 year. Some of the projects and progress to date are as follows: 1. Develop and distribute a survey form to be sent to all chapters, committees, and special interest sections. Purpose: To determine the level of interest in those groups in receiving information or assistance in their public relations activities. The form also included a request to name a liaison contact for each group.
2. Explore ways and means to acquire a display to be used at various meetings.
3. Start drafting a Public Relations Manual to assist PR work in the various chapters, committees and special interest sections.
4. Develop an informational brochure to be distributed to law firms and corporations detailing the advantages of including a law librarian in their personnel structure.
The PR Committee has tried to accomplish the goals agreed upon last year and, while some are incomplete, the exploration of ideas has been useful. It is hoped the next PR Committee, and the Executive Director, will benefit from the work done by the Committee this year.
