1986-1987 Public Relations CommitteeThe Committee submitted job description guidelines to the Executive Board to support the proposal for a paid, professional public relations position for AALL. Both the proposal and the guidelines await action on the position of the professional development officer.
Committee members wrote public relations columns for the AALL Newsletter, continued to collect and distribute materials for the public relations clearinghouse, and planned an introductory public relations program for the annual meeting in Chicago.
The 1987-88 committee should serve an advisory role during the transition from public relations as a committee responsibility to public relations as a professional function at headquarters.
