Excitement was in the air as law librarians from across the country arrived in Boston for the 2012 AALL Annual Meeting & Conference. Greeting each other with hugs and smiles in the convention center hallways and in hotel lobbies, this is the one time of year than many friends and colleagues get to see each other and catch up on what’s going on in their libraries and communities.

Saturday kicked off with four pre-conference workshops, the Conference of Newer Law Librarians, Legislative Advocacy Training, the Private Law Librarians Summit, and an abundance of leadership training and committee meetings. President Darcy Kirk and the AALL Executive Board cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the 2012 Exhibit Hall, filled with nearly 200 booths representing about 100 companies.

The Opening Reception was the perfect event to connect with AALL members from far and wide. Attendees had a chance to learn about the newest resources from vendors in the Exhibit Hall and meet up with friends, ready to move on to more evening receptions and dine-arounds in Boston.
