Energy levels remained high as the conference wound down on Tuesday. Attendees got up bright and early for informal coffee talk sessions on such topics as The Library Without Walls — Raising the Profile of Your Library; Keeping Connections Strong When You’re Part of a Virtual Team; and Chatting About LibGuides. The learning continued with morning sessions on teaching legal research, embedding librarians, and the Hot Topic program on social media legal issues.

The big event of the day was the return of the Association Luncheon. The celebratory lunch featured Marian Gould Gallagher Distinguished Service Award winners Nancy Johnson and Terry Martin and Joseph L. Andrews Bibliographical Award winners Richard Danner, Jules Winterton, and Michael Hannon.

Luncheon speaker Karen McCullough challenged attendees to embrace change with her presentation, “Change is Good … You Go First.” McCullough’s entertaining speech taught attendees how to identify what needs to change and gave them the confidence to make it happen. She emphasized the importance of communicating your value and re-engineering your law library to meet the rapidly changing legal environment.

After lunch attendees spent their final hours with vendors in the Exhibit Hall during the delicious dessert reception.

After four days of education, networking, and celebrating, attendees left Boston with an ignited future and renewed spirit. We look forward to seeing you all at the 2013 AALL Annual Conference & Meeting in Seattle, July 13-16. See you again soon!
