2008 AALL Annual Meeting and Conference

Family Social Hour

2008 AALL Annual Meeting and Conference

"A Night at the (Children’s) Museum"
Saturday, July 12 • 5:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Chair: Kim Ositis, kim.ositis@kingcounty.gov

Local advisor: Laurisa Stubblefield, lls@lclark.edu

Please join us for "A Night at the (Children’s) Museum." The Museum will be open exclusively for AALL attendees and their children for a private bash. Enjoy yummy pizza and homemade sodas from Hotlips Pizza and then get to exploring! There’s something for every age (including the young at heart). Exhibits include: The Grasshopper Grocery & Butterfly Bistro (retail store with "food" and cash registers), Building Bridgetown (a hands-on construction exhibit), the Dig Pit (with rubber "gravel," plus plenty of buckets, shovels, dump trucks and a conveyor belt) and more!

Special note: AALL has arranged for a group pass to ride the MAX train to the Children’s Museum and back. You may board at either the Convention Center or Pioneer Square stops. The Family Social Hour Committee will send out an e-mail prior to the AALL Annual Meeting with specific boarding times. At the MAX stops, look for AALL members carrying posters with "AALL Families." If you want to arrange your own transportation, the Children’s Museum is located at 4015 S.W. Canyon Road, Portland, across from the Oregon Zoo. For further information on the location or details about the Children’s Museum, please visit: www.portlandcm.org/index.php.

This event is free for you and your family; however, you must register by June 6. We look forward to hosting everyone for a fun and educational time at "A Night at the (Children’s) Museum"!

(This event is intended for registered attendees accompanying their children.)
