Minneapolis: Art and Music
Must do cultural
activities during AALL week:
1. Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA)
MIA will feature a Degas exhibit from
June 21 to September 9. Don't miss the show, "Experience the
Master of French Impressionism." This display will include more
than 80 Impressionist works in all media. It examines the early
response to Degas in America. Other exhibits on display include: The
Prints of Francisco Goya; The Engravings of Lucas van Leyden; Ukiyo-e
Prints from the Permanent Collection; Photogravure: Photographs in
Ink. The MIA is located at 2400 Third Ave. South, one mile south of
downtown Minneapolis.
2. Minnesota Orchestra MusicFest
Orchestra Hall and Peavey Plaza are
located on Nicollet Mall, just a block from the Hilton Hotel. Law
librarians will want to catch the orchestral tunes emanating from
these superstar musicians.
