MusicFest

 

Music lovers will be glad to know that the arrival date of many librarians, July 13, coincides with the opening date of the Minnesota Orchestra's MusicFest.

This four week festival begins at 12 noon on July 13 with a 24 hour music marathon in and around Orchestra Hall, with free performances of music of all types. Orchestra Hall is located about two blocks from the convention center.

Weeks one and two of MusicFest, which overlap with AALL2001, feature French composers (week one) and Spanish composers(week two) in several evening orchestra concerts. See the Minnesota Orchestra's web site for more information or see the schedule below.

There will be food and music on the plaza in front of Orchestra Hall at noon and before the concerts.

This free 24-hour music marathon features classical, folk, pop, rock, jazz, and gospel performances and family activities at Orchestra Hall, including a free Minnesota Orchestra concert on Friday, July 13 at 8 P.M.
